Reflection on Weblog
Possible ways to use Weblog features for teaching and learning:
1. Blogging - More reading materials can be posted through blogging, these materials can be those from other website, or written by teacher; As long as they are interesting and suitable for the students. Students also can practice writing through updating their own weblog and commenting on others'.
2. Gadgets - A lot of useful gadgets can be used, for example: text reminders for homework, count down for exam dates
3. Videos & Games - Certain useful videos and games can be embedded to weblog, and students can learn some Chinese while enjoy them.
4. Communicating with parents - Nowadays, a lot of parents are internet users, weblog can be a good platform to communicate with parents, they can view the bolg for recent updates in class, homework list and the progress made by their kids.
However, there are certain concerns when introducing students to use weblog.
1. Nowadys, internet addiction becomes a big issue for students, and using of weblog may meke it worse.
2. If there is not proper guidance from parents, students may use weblog as excuse for their use of computer for other reasons.
